Dear Friends,
Welcome to the web site for the Diocese of Jackson! We
are home to over 48,000 Catholics in 105 parishes and missions. Our diocese
covers 65 counties and almost 38,000 square miles making it the largest
geographical diocese east of the Mississippi River. Since the time of
the early Spanish
explorers, there has been a Catholic presence in what is now the State
of Mississippi. The early missionaries and those who have followed have
found ways to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. |
