Worship & Liturgy

The Office of Worship & Liturgy (OWL) coordinates diocesan liturgical events and Episcopal liturgies. OWL is available to assist parishes in planning liturgical ceremonies in the local parish.

We work with parished to plan liturgical celebrations such as: dedications of new churches and altars, confirmations, parish anniversaries, and other liturgies at which the bishop will be present.

We are always willing to answer or try to answer questions surrounding Catholic worship for our diocesan faithful. Together we can continue to develop the liturgical prayerlife of the Diocese of Jackson. Contact us at 601.960.8475.

Roman Missal Resource

Over forty years have passed since 1969 when the first translation of the Mass into English was issued. Much has changed-including our ability to understand, articulate, and translate the words we use during the Eucharist.  The guide includes practical resources to create the parish implementation plan including a calendar, ministry-specific suggestions, "to do" lists, bulletin inserts, homily helps, and a comprehensive bibliography of other available materials. Reawaken your parish's love for the Eucharist as you introduce them to the changes in what they say and hear through the simple, practical steps laid out in this parish guide.
